About Bills For Books

Bills For Books buys and sells used textbooks. We're based in Michigan and work with college bookstores, teachers, and students across the country: sellers get an instant, market-based offer and a free shipping label, and buyers get hand-inspected books priced under the big marketplaces, shipped free.

Every book is priced against the live market and every copy is checked by a person before it's paid for or listed. If a number looks off, or you have a lot that doesn't fit the tool, send us a message and a real person will get back to you.

Questions people ask

How do I sell my textbooks?

Type or scan each ISBN above. You get a cash offer per book and one total for the lot. Accept it, print the prepaid label, ship the books, and we pay within 5 business days of receiving your books.

How are your offers calculated?

Every ISBN is priced against the live used-textbook market at the moment you ask. Titles in demand get higher offers; titles the market has moved on from get lower ones or no offer. The number you see is the number we pay for books in the condition described.

Do I pay for shipping?

No. When you accept an offer we give you a prepaid USPS label, one per box. Large lots can get a pallet pickup.

How and when do I get paid?

Check, PayPal, or direct deposit, within 5 business days of your books arriving and passing inspection.

What if I have hundreds of copies of one title?

Instant offers cover up to 10 copies per title. For more, use "Request a bulk price": tell us your real quantities and we send an approved offer, usually the same business day.

What condition do the books need to be in?

Good, usable condition. Normal wear and light notes are fine. We can't pay for water damage, missing pages, broken bindings, or heavy writing. See the condition guidelines.

Do you buy loose-leaf, international, or instructor editions?

Loose-leaf, yes, as long as it's still in the original shrink-wrap, sealed and unopened. Once a loose-leaf has been opened we can't take it. Instructor and annotated copies and international editions aren't accepted, and we can't pay for them if they arrive.
